Nikkei wrote that a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson commented on Secretary of State Tillerson’s statement during his telephone conservation with Foreign Minister Kishida on Tuesday that the Senkaku Islands fall within the scope of Article 5 of the U.S.-Japan Security Treaty by saying that the Senkakus are an integral part of China.
