The Lower House plenary session on March 9 unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the North Korean missile launch. Following the resolution, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe addressed the plenary session, saying, “We demand North Korea take concrete action aimed at solving problems concerning nuclear and missile development and abduction issues.”

The resolution denounced the repeated nuclear tests and ballistic missile launches and said these can’t be allowed as they pose an increased level of threat. The resolution urged the government to “increase pressure on North Korea by coordinating with other nations and the UN Security Council, as well as by strictly enforcing our independent measures.”
