On March 9, Honda Motor announced it will market its new electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs), which can be recharged at home, in the United States in 2017. By fully entering the U.S. next-generation eco-car market, Honda aims to achieve its goal of having its hybrid vehicles (HV) and other electric vehicles make up two-thirds of all cars it sells by 2030.
Environmental regulations in the U.S. market are expected to be tightened. The state of California will exclude HVs from eco-cars in 2018. Honda will market the vehicles first in the United States and later in Japan and elsewhere.
