The Defense Ministry’s Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency and the British Ministry of Defence exchanged memorandums that enable the exchange of information for joint development of fighter jets in the future. This is the first agreement with a foreign country specifically for fighter jet development. The Japanese Ministry of Defense hopes to incorporate stealth technology that eludes radar detection in the successor model of the current F2 fighter jets. The memorandum will help the government make a decision between domestic development and joint-development with a foreign country.
