The government on Friday set up its headquarters — headed by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe — to promote the development of integrated resort facilities based on the law to lift the ban on casinos.

The headquarters will lay the groundwork for the legislation of a law to implement the plan to develop casinos.

Toshiya Morishige, who took charge of preparing for the establishment of the headquarters, was appointed head of the secretariat on Friday.
