Tomigusuku Police Station in Okinawa Prefecture arrested a U.S. Air Force member (33) at Naha Airport on April 17 on the charge of violating the Firearms and Sword Control Act. The suspect, who is stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, was discovered to have in his bag two bullets for a pistol. The police arrested him on the spot. The suspect said, “I don’t know why the bullets were in my bag,” partly denying the charge.

The allegation is that around 9:50 a.m. on April 17 the suspect was found to be in possession of two bullets at the security check point at the passenger terminal for domestic flights. (Slightly Abridged)
