Kyodo reported today that in response to a request from the USG, JAL and ANA implemented stricter security screening on flights bound for the United States starting Tuesday by randomly checking passengers’ electronic devices, including tablets, personal computers, and digital cameras, for explosives before they board aircraft. The two airlines said no problems or departure delays have occurred as a result of the new security measures.
