The Ministry of Defense (MOD) created a new post on Aug. 9 of “information disclosure inspector” to prevent incidents like the alleged cover-up of Self-Defense Forces (SDF) activity logs from occurring again. The inspector will investigate and verify the existence of documents when the MOD decides to reject information disclosure requests on the grounds of nonexistence of documents.
