On Sept. 22, the government added three organizations and one individual from North Korea to its list of entities and people subject to asset freezing. The step was taken in line with a sanctions resolution that the United Nations Security Council adopted on Sept. 11 to expand the scope of asset freezing. Japan is freezing the assets of 75 entities and 82 individuals in total if combined with those that are already subject to the sanctions.
