TOKYO — The following is the gist of the party line of the “Kibo no To” (Party of Hope) led by Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike, announced at a press conference on Wednesday.The party will:
— aim to be a tolerant, reform-minded conservative party that promotes inclusion in the world, where social divisions have been worsening.
— protect the public’s right to know through thorough information disclosure and free national politics from its “shackles.”
— protect people’s lives, freedom and property, building a standard of living that allows the public to live with hope and vitality.
— develop realistic foreign affairs and security policy on a pacifist basis.
— spend tax revenue wisely and use private-sector innovation to work for a sustainable society.
— realize a society that allows a diverse range of lifestyles, empowering all regardless of age or gender.
