NHK reported this afternoon that Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga announced at a press conference this morning that President Trump’s daughter Ivanka will attend a special event next month at the fourth annual “WAW!2017,” an international conference aimed at creating a “society where women can shine” — one of the priorities of the Abe administration. The network said the GOJ will host the conference at a Tokyo hotel from Nov. 1 to 3. The network quoted Suga as saying: “Top leaders from Japan and around the world who work actively in various sectors will discuss measures to promote women’s participation in society and make proposals.” Suga also reportedly said that Ivanka Trump will deliver a keynote speech on the theme of women’s economic participation and entrepreneurship. The network added that IMF Managing Director Lagarde and former Ambassador Kennedy have delivered speeches at the conference in the past.
