Abe asks Yasuoka to serve as LDP constitutional revision headquarters special adviser

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with Liberal Democratic Party Headquarters for the Promotion of Revision to the Constitution Chairman Okiharu Yasuoka at the Kantei on Oct. 26. Yasuoka did not run in the recent House of Representatives election and has retired from politics to focus on treatment of pancreatic cancer. Abe asked him to serve as special adviser to the constitutional revision headquarters and continue his involvement in the constitutional debate. Yasuoka said he would do what little he can to give support.
