NHK reported that President Trump and the First Lady met with the families of Japanese abductees at the Akasaka Palace this afternoon. The President reportedly said he has heard many sad stories about the abductees and stressed that he will work closely with Prime Minister Abe to bring them back to Japan. PM Abe also pledged to make all-out efforts to resolve the issue together with President Trump. The families of the abductees are expected to hold a press conference later today.
