The Japanese government finalized a written answer at the cabinet meeting on Nov. 10 regarding the protection and evacuation of Japanese citizens in South Korea in the event of a contingency on the Korean Peninsula. The answer says, “Relevant organizations are cooperating in making preparations and conducting examinations as needed by working together with relevant nations in anticipation of various situations.”

The answer was prepared in response to a question raised by Upper House member Yoshifu Arita of the Democratic Party (DP).
