Japan names new ambassadors to San Marino, Malta, Montenegro

TOKYO — Keiichi Katakami, ambassador to Italy, was appointed to double as ambassador to San Marino and Malta, effective Friday, the Foreign Ministry said.

 

Katakami served as chief negotiator for the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact earlier this year.

 

Junichi Maruyama, ambassador to Serbia, was also tapped to double as ambassador to Montenegro, effective the same day, the ministry said.
