Search for missing U.S. military plane ended

With regard to the crash of a carrier-borne C-2A Greyhound transport plane from the USS Ronald Reagan, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy Seventh Fleet, the U.S. Navy announced on Nov. 24 that it has terminated search for three sailors missing after the plane crashed in waters about 150 km northwest of Tokyo’s remote island of Okinotorishima on Nov. 22. According to the U.S. Navy and the Defense Ministry, the aircraft carrier was conducting a joint exercise with the Maritime Self-Defense Force at the time of the crash.
