SoftBank Group announced Dec. 28 that it has completed its acquisition of U.S. investment firm Fortress Investment Group. The Japanese telecom giant has now acquired all of Fortress’ [outstanding] shares for 3.3 billion dollars (approx. 372.9 billion yen). SoftBank will take advantage of Fortress’ know-hows in managing the assets of firms to be invested in by the “ten trillion yen fund” the Japanese company has established with Saudi Arabia and others.
