On Jan. 30, the Futenma Daini Elementary School in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture, where a window from a helicopter deployed to the U.S. Marines Corps Air Station fell, conducted an evacuation drill with pupils in response to a scenario where a U.S. military helicopter approached the facility. The school has refrained from using the playground since the incident on Dec. 13 last year. It will conduct the drill over several days so that all pupils can participate and will decide whether to reopen the playground. (Abridged)
