Nippon Ishin [Japan Innovation Party] Secretary General Nobuyuki Baba commented on the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Headquarters for the Promotion of Revision to the Constitution’s proposal on revisions to the constitution to support education, which did not include free education, at a news conference on Feb. 22. He said: “We attach greatest importance to free education. We cannot agree (with the LDP’s proposal) unless this is included.”

With regard to the inappropriate comparison of data used in the debate on the discretionary working-hour system, Baba indicated that the government needs to investigate the causes and punish the responsible officials before submitting the related bills to the Diet.
