PM Abe aims to buoy his administration through diplomacy

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is poised to buoy his administration through diplomacy. In his summit talks with U.S. President Donald Trump later this month, he will align the two countries’ North Korea policies ahead of the North-South and U.S.-DPRK summits, as well as request Trump’s cooperation in seeking a solution to the abduction issue. However, developments relating to North Korea are unlikely to move in accordance with the Japanese government’s scenario. Therefore, it remains uncertain whether Abe can make any diplomatic achievements.
