MOFA launches new office to monitor UN sanctions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced on April 2 that it had launched on April 1 a new United Nations Sanctions Division under the Foreign Policy Bureau. This office will have a staff of 11, including some seconded from other offices. It will take charge of the implementation and research of sanctions mandated by the UN Security Council (UNSC). Its main duties for the time being will be to ensure the implementation of sanctions against North Korea and call on the relevant countries for cooperation.
