TOKYO — The president of Switzerland and prime minister of Bhutan will make separate visits to Japan next week, the Japanese government said Friday.

Swiss President Alain Berset will make a four-day trip from next Thursday for talks with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a press conference.

It will be the first trip to Japan for Berset, who doubles as the head of the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

Separately, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will make a four-day visit from Tuesday, also holding talks with Abe, Suga said.
