Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held separate meetings with the House of Representatives speaker, the House of Councillors president, and senior officials of the ruling and opposition parties in Tokyo on May 10.
At his meeting with Lower House Speaker Tadamori Oshima, Oshima hailed the Japan-China summit meeting on May 9 for “contributing greatly to stability and peace of mind in the region and in the world.”
Li responded with: “The Chinese people also hope for the sustained healthy development of the bilateral relationship.”
Oshima indicated at this meeting his plan to visit China in July.
Li also met with Liberal Democratic Party Secretary General Toshihiro Nikai, Komeito leader Natsuo Yamaguchi, Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan leader Yukio Edano, and other party officials.
