All Sunday papers reported on remarks made on Saturday during an LDP meeting in Shiga Prefecture by Prime Minister Abe, who commented on President Trump’s latest decision to hold a summit with North Korea leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore by saying: “Japan intends to do its utmost to ensure that progress is made during the historic U.S.-DPRK summit on nuclear and missile development, as well as the abduction issue, which is more important than anything else.” He went on to say: “Japan will never tolerate a nuclear-armed North Korea. We will step up the pressure.”
