Toyota to face burden of 460 billion yen if U.S. imposes higher tariffs on auto imports

Saturday’s Asahi, Nikkei, and Sankei reported that Toyota Motor Corp. disclosed on Friday that the average cost of exporting vehicles to the U.S. would rise by about 660,000 yen (approx. $6,000) per car if the Trump administration imposed higher tariffs on autos and auto parts. Asahi wrote that since Toyota exports about 700,000 cars to the U.S. annually, its total burden would be about 460 billion yen.
