Satellite imagery shows no dismantling activity at North Korean nuclear site

NTV reported at noon that satellite imagery disclosed by “38 North” on Thursday showed that no progress has been made in the process of dismantling North Korea’s Sohae Satellite Launching Station. The network said that although it was confirmed that North Korea had begun dismantling the missile engine test stand and the launch pad at the site after the Singapore summit, no significant activity appears to have taken place since Aug. 3. NHK carried a similar story online, saying that although “38 North” said it is unclear why the dismantling activity has stopped, it may be due to the fact that the U.S. and North Korea have yet to narrow their differences in the denuclearization talks.
