Japan names new ambassadors to Cameroon, 3 other countries

TOKYO — The Japanese government on Tuesday appointed new ambassadors to Cameroon, the Marshall Islands, Ethiopia and Sri Lanka, effective Thursday.

 

Tsutomu Osawa, 61, who formerly served as consul general in Shenyang, China, was picked as ambassador to Cameroon.

 

Norio Saito, 62, consul general in Guangzhou, China, will serve as ambassador to the Marshall Islands, while Daisuke Matsunaga, 62, consul general in Edinburgh, will become ambassador to Ethiopia.

 

Akira Sugiyama, 57, former chief of protocol at the Foreign Ministry, was selected as ambassador to Sri Lanka.
