Komeito’s Yamaguchi to visit China starting today

Natsuo Yamaguchi, the leader of the Komeito party, will visit China from Sept. 5-9. In Beijing he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and give him a personal letter from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Yamaguchi was invited by the Communist Party of China to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Japan-China peace and friendship accord.


In Beijing he will meet with President Xi and other senior officials. He also plans to visit Tianjin, where he will deliver a speech at Nankai University, the alma mater of former Premier Zhou Enlai, who dedicated himself to the normalization of diplomatic ties between Japan and China in 1972.
