Okinawa gubernatorial election candidate Denny Tamaki automatically lost a parliamentary seat in the House of Representatives on Sept. 13. The Liberal Party had only two Lower House members, Tamaki and Ichiro Ozawa. But a parliamentary group cannot be formed by just one Diet member, which made Ozawa an independent.
