Asahi, Mainichi, Nikkei, and Sankei wrote that the Naha branch of the Fukuoka High Court upheld on Thursday a lower court ruling last year that sentenced Kenneth Franklin Shinzato, a former U.S. military base worker in Okinawa, to life imprisonment for the murder of a 20-year-old woman in Uruma, Okinawa, in 2016 by dismissing the defendant’s appeal.
