Nikkei took up remarks on Thursday by Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga, who commented on National Security Advisor Bolton’s reported suggestion that some countries may be exempted from the Trump administration’s planned imposition of sanctions on Iran. Suga reportedly said: “We have been requesting that Japanese businesses’ operations not be disrupted, but I will not go into the details of our specific exchanges. We’ve held four sessions so far. We would like to communicate closely with the U.S.”
