Kadena – The Kadena Municipal Assembly (chaired by Naoki Tokuzato) held an ad hoc session on Nov. 8, where a written opinion and a protest resolution were passed unanimously to protest the collision of two U.S. Navy HH-60 helicopters on Kadena Air Base on Oct. 9.

The assembly demanded a review of the notification system agreed upon by the Japanese and U.S. governments and the provision of timely and accurate information for incidents both inside and outside U.S. military facilities.

The written opinion will be presented to the prime minister and the defense minister, while the protest resolution will be sent to the U.S. ambassador to Japan and the U.S. Forces Japan (USFJ) commander. (Abridged)
