Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will embark on a visit to three Latin American nations from Nov. 29. He will participate in the G20 Summit in Argentina.
At the G20 Summit, he plans to present Japan’s position on the importance of free trade and other issues amid the intensifying U.S.-China trade war. Japan is hosting the next G20 Summit in Osaka in June next year.
Abe is expected to discuss negotiations for the “Trade Agreement on Goods (TAG),” which will begin at the beginning of next year, when he meets with Trump. Also, he will discuss the Northern Territories issue with Putin in light of the agreement reached on Nov.14 between Japan and Russia to “accelerate negotiations for a peace treaty based on the 1956 Japan-Russia Joint Communique.
