Sankei front-paged a report claiming that it learned from a source on Tuesday that a GOJ panel on space policy has decided that Japan will seek to participate in the United States’ international manned lunar exploratory mission in the 2020s. According to the paper, the GOJ will include this plan in the roadmap for its basic space policy to be put together in early December and officially decide on the policy at a meeting of the strategic headquarters on space development to be held by the end of this year.
