CCS Suga welcomes U.S.’s suspension of new tariffs on China

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga during a press conference on Dec. 3 commented on the agreement made during a summit between the U.S. and China that the U.S. would refrain for 90 days from raising tariffs on Chinese goods. He welcomed the agreement, saying, “Major economies like the U.S. and China engaging in constructive communication is important not only for our country and the rest of Asia but also for the entire world.” At the same time, Suga hailed the U.S.-China summit, saying, “The discussions were positive and constructive.”
