JCP chief discusses technical interns with Vietnamese president

NHK reported this morning that Japanese Communist Party Chairman Shii met with Communist Party of Vietnam Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, who is also president of Vietnam, on Dec. 18 and confirmed that the two parties will share information on Vietnamese technical interns working in Japan for low wages. NHK noted that Vietnam supplies the largest number of technical interns to Japan, numbering around 130,000 at present. The two leaders reportedly also discussed North Korea’s denuclearization and other bilateral and international issues.
