Mrs. Donna Kelly, wife of Nissan motor director Greg Kelly who was arrested in November on allegations of fraud, released a video message through an American lawyer before her husband was released from jail. She lives in the state of Tennessee in the American South.
In the video, she thanked a congressperson elected from her constituency and U.S. Ambassador to Japan William Hagerty. Regarding the arrest of her husband, she criticized the Nissan board members by name. She said: “My husband was tricked, lured from the U.S. to Japan and arrested there,” and “He was involved in a corporate power play.” Mrs. Kelly added, “My husband is a lawyer with a high sense of moral values and has never done anything criminal,” emphasizing his innocence.
