At a cabinet meeting on Dec. 21, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appointed Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko to be the minister in charge of the 2025 World Expo to be held in Osaka. Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Minister Keiichi Ishii and National Public Safety Commission Chairperson Junzo Yamamoto were also appointed as minister in charge of promoting Ainu policy and minister in charge of safety measures for drones, respectively.
