The following is the gist of the interpellations at the House of Councillors Budget Committee meeting on Feb. 7:
Satoshi Inoue (Japanese Communist Party): What is the significance of last June’s U.S.-North Korea summit meeting?
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe: What is important is to back the agreement reached between the United States and North Korea so that it is implemented completely and quickly. We will join hands and move forward in the direction of resolving the issues of nuclear weapons, missiles, and abductions. The complete and verifiable abolition of nuclear weapons and missiles is not moving forward. It is important is to fully achieve this.
