North Korea supports ROK assembly speaker’s remark on comfort women

TV Asahi reported on Tuesday evening that North Korea’s “Uriminzokkiri” website took up Japan’s demand that ROK National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang apologize and retract his earlier remark asking the Emperor to apologize to the former comfort women. It criticized Japan for “glorifying, distorting, and denying its past crimes” and asserted that Japan’s demand for Moon’s apology is a “shameless, reckless act by a brazen thief,” thus supporting Moon’s remark in an apparent attempt to further inflame the conflict.
