On Feb. 26, Ricoh announced a business tie-up with the Japanese local subsidiary of U.S. telecommunications equipment major Cisco Systems in the area of security countermeasures. They will market Ricoh’s cloud services together with Cisco’s equipment and services as a package, thereby reducing the security measures burden on client companies. They aim to attract the business of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular.
Under the tie-up, Ricoh and Cisco will set up a specialized team and jointly develop services. The services will be introduced on a pilot basis in April, and full-fledged marketing will start in September. Security will be enhanced through the application of Cisco’s services in three areas — the cloud, networks, and devices. The content of the services will be set in accordance with the client company’s needs. (Abridged)
