HANOI — The following is the gist of a press conference by U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday following a two-day summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi, which ended with no agreement.Trump said:
— Kim demanded all sanctions on North Korea be lifted.
— U.S. refused Kim’s demand as there was a “gap.”
— North Korea’s shutdown of Yongbyon nuclear complex was not enough to make a deal.
— It was very interesting and productive two days.
— He had papers ready to be signed but decided “do it right than do it fast.”
— Kim promised to continue suspension of nuclear and ballistic missile tests.
— U.S., N. Korea to continue talks, but the holding of another next summit is undecided.
— His relationship with Kim is still “strong.”
