Abe meets with abductees’ families

All papers except Asahi wrote that Prime Minister Abe held talks with family members of the Japanese abductees at the Kantei on Wednesday to brief them on the results of the recent Hanoi summit between President Trump and Chairman Kim. “Next it will be my turn to meet face-to-face with Chairman Kim,” said the premier. “The U.S. is expected to continue dialogue with North Korea. I would like to resolve the abduction issue by seizing every possible opportunity.” The visitors reportedly asked Abe in return to redouble his efforts to bring their loved ones home.
