Yomiuri reported from Moscow on a Russian media story claiming that reconnaissance drones have been deployed on the islands of Kunashiri and Etorofu, speculating the deployment is part of the Russian military’s efforts to militarize the Northern Territories. The unmanned aircraft can reportedly fly for 14 hours at a maximum altitude of 5 km.
