TV Asahi reported at noon today the results of an ANN opinion poll conducted on April 20-21 showing that support for the Abe cabinet stands at 45%, up by 1.8 points from last month, while the disapproval rate dropped by 3.1 points to 33%. Asked whether they approved of holding simultaneous Lower and Upper House elections this summer, 54% said yes and 28% said no. Regarding whether they support increasing the consumption tax rate to 10% in October as planned, 43% said yes and 51% said no. Asked for their thoughts on the Heisei Era, 19% replied that they were “very happy” and 59% said they were “more or less happy” during the era.
