Nikai meets with China’s party chief of Shanghai

SHANGHAI – Liberal Democratic Party Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai, who is currently in China, met with Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China Secretary Li Qiang, the party chief of Shanghai, on April 25.

 

Li, a close aide of President Xi Jinping, is expected to join the ranks of the supreme decision-making body in the future. “I heard Li is one of China’s promising leaders,” Nikai told reporters after the meeting. “I had the impression that he is a politician and a leader capable of wise decisions. I look forward to keeping in touch with him.”
