Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives) Chairman Kengo Sakurada noted in his first press conference held after becoming head of the business executives’ group on May 14 that U.S.-China trade tensions “may continue for some time (until the two nations reach a settlement).” He also pointed out that “(Japanese manufacturers) will be adversely affected but they should seize this as an opportunity to review their supply chains and production bases.”
