Nagoya, May 20 (Jiji Press) — Japanese trading company Toyota Tsusho Corp. <8015> said Monday it has invested in U.S. startup Zipline International Inc. to cooperate in the drone market.
It was the first time for the California company to accept investment from a nonfinancial business. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
Zipline started a service using drones to deliver blood products for transfusions to hospitals in Rwanda in October 2016. It began a similar service in Ghana in April 2019.
