Tokyo, May 21 (Jiji Press) — The Japanese government has set up an advisory panel to discuss ways to promote its territorial claims, cabinet minister Mitsuhiro Miyakoshi said Tuesday.

The panel comprises 13 experts in foreign and security policy, international law and other fields, including Masashi Nishihara, president of the Research Institute for Peace and Security, and Yuichi Hosoya, professor at Keio University.

It will draw up proposals as early as July.

The panel “will assess past efforts and consider ways to better disseminate information” about Tokyo’s stance, Miyakoshi, minister in charge of territorial issues, told a press conference.
