Former Nissan Motor chairman Carlos Ghosn has attended pre-trial talks at the Tokyo District Court to prioritize issues of contention.

Ghosn has been indicted for allegedly understating his executive compensation in Nissan’s securities reports. He has also been charged with aggravated breach of trust over the suspected misappropriation of company funds.

On Thursday morning, Ghosn attended the first of the pre-trial talks with judges, prosecutors and his defense team.

An interpreter was also present at the closed-door session, which lasted for about 30 minutes.

They are likely to have discussed when prosecutors will present their detailed plan on establishing the aggravated breach of trust case and when they will disclose their evidence.

Ghosn’s lawyer says he expects the procedures for sorting out these issues will be completed around next spring.

The date for Ghosn’s trial has yet to be set.
